Yes, I like your new template a lot. The only things I'd change are a) make the headlines a bit less black and chunky and b) make the bright-blue-with-orange-rollover links coordinate better with the color scheme (maybe a bit darker and purpler?). But those are minor points -- my eyes are much happier reading the blog now...
